Chamber News by Artis Stoebener, Executive Director The Law Offices of Drew F. Davis is this week's veteran member. I'm always pleased when Cameron graduates choose to return to their roots and continue as leaders in the Cameron community. Drew is very well known in the Cameron area as he is at least the third generation of the Carey/Davis family to live in Cameron. His uncle, Ray Bob Carey, is still remembered as an outstanding basketball player. Drew is the son of Dennis and Susan Davis. He graduated from Cameron High School in 1989. He then received his undergraduate degree in Political Science (magna cum laude) from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in 1993. Drew went on to receive his law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis in 1996, graduating in the top 10% of his class. Having distinguished himself academically from two excellent institutions of learning, it's no surprise that Drew joined the law firm of Stinson, Mag & Fizzell (now Stinson Morrison Hecker), one of Kansas City’s oldest and largest firms in 1996 and remained with them until 2000. In 2000, Drew opened his own practice in Cameron. You can find Drew's practice, Law Offices of Drew F. Davis, on the second floor of the Bank Midwest building at 1304 N. Walnut, suite 200 in Cameron or reach him at 632-7575. He also has an office in Maysville at 200 West Main Street (816-449-1232). The Law Offices of Drew F. Davis is listed as "general practice", but his focus is on estate planning, criminal/traffic matters, real estate matters and personal injury cases. His estate planning is excellent and includes wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents. I would never have considered traveling abroad w/o having all my affairs in order. Drew managed all that in a very efficient manner which really eased the minds of my family. Drew has a very professional manner, but one that puts his clients at ease immediately. Perhaps that's why the readers of the Cameron Shopper have selected The Law Offices of Drew F. Davis as "favorite attorney" for three consecutive years! He also handles adoptions, divorces, civil litigation, and workers compensation matters. As busy as his practice keeps him, he finds time to get involved with the Cameron community. He's served two terms (6 years) on the Chamber Board of Directors, is a Rotarian, a member of the Sertoma Club, serves on the Board of Directors of the Clinton County Board of Services, serves as a committeeman on the Dekalb County Republican Committee, and with his wife, Challie Dawn and daughters, Madison and Mackenzie, is a member of the Cameron United Methodist Church. Drew is also an avid sportsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. Keeping the youth of Cameron in Cameron is certainly one of the focuses of Economic Development and I'm delighted that Cameron has not suffered from "brain drain" that occurs in many other communities. The Chamber was pleased to design and man the Cameron booth at Great Northwest Day in Jefferson City on Feb. 6. We chose to showcase the area of economic development w/2 banners stating "What happens in Cameron…" and "Creates jobs in Cameron." We had many positive comments on acquiring the Case New Holland parts distributorship, Dohrn Transport, Sukup Manufacturing, and the expansion of Orscheln's. Cameron is truly blessed to have so much effort & support from so many folks. Please continue to patronize all 160+ Chamber businesses that have made a dedicated effort to help Cameron be all it can be. They appreciate your business.
