City Hall

City Hall

Cameron's City Hall, completed in 2001, is a spacious combination of modern and traditional styles highlighted by a barrel-vaulted City Council Chambers which seats over 100. The new administrative offices were built on the site of the former City Hall which was razed while City business was conducted for a year in temporary offices on 3rd Street downtown.

Mayor

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the City of Cameron. Cameron is a vibrant, growing and progressive community with much to offer its residents and visitors alike. The City is very proud of its school system, with a wonderful staff of talented teachers and administrators. For the sports-minded, the City offers numerous parks, a swimming pool, tennis courts, volleyball, an 18 hole golf course and a complex of baseball/softball fields. Cameron residents enjoy the feel and flavor of a "hometown" community, while at the same time enjoying opportunities found in Kansas City, just a short drive south on Interstate 35.

The City has experienced tremendous growth over the last several years, and that trend is anticipated to continue. With the influx of new residents and businesses, the main objective for the City Council has been to focus on continuing to enhance the "quality of life" for our citizens. Through the efforts of the excellent staff of individuals at City Hall, we are very pleased with our ability to keep pace with a growing demand, and continue to plan for the future.

If you have not had the opportunity to stop by and visit our community, I encourage you to do so. You may find that you like it so much, that you may just decide to stay. As Mayor of Cameron, and on behalf of the entire City Council and City Administration, I wish you good health, a long life, and may you be blessed in all that you do.

Sincerely,
Larry L. McCord, Jr.
Mayor, City of Cameron
